Google+ Profile Pictures Will Be Tied to Phone Numbers in 2014
Hope you enjoy your Google+ profile pic because come 2014, every person you call is going to be seeing it. The Android 4.4 KitKat dialer has a new system that will tie the picture to your phone number, sending it out to any person you call.
Google has described it as an easier alternative to Caller ID, especially when contacting someone you haven’t quite gotten to know yet on a first name basis. The best news is it also doesn’t allow anybody to put cruel pictures of you on their side of the line whenever you give them a ring either; at least, not by default.
“Coming in early 2014, users who have verified their phone number and have discovery turned on will have their names and Google Profile photos display whenever they call you, or you call them,” says Google Official Atilla Bodis’ Google+ page. The new program can also scan important calls from business contacts and relatives, making sure that no important call goes missed.
All users are linked in by default, but have the option of removing associated phone numbers from their Google account on the Phone Settings page. Some of these features, such as photos from local businesses, will go live earlier as they are part of Android 4.4 KitKat.
