How to move events between calendars with Google Calendar

Google Calendar is an application that we can take advantage of on Android, when organizing our day to day in a simple way. Some of the functions have been arriving over time to the version for phones of the same. One of the most recent in this regard has been the possibility of moving events between calendars.

It is a function that had been available for a while in the computer version of Google Calendar. After a waiting time, we can already use this function in its version for Android. Thanks to it we can move events that we have created between calendars, avoiding having to delete it and recreate it.

In the past, it was possible that we had created an event in the calendar, but in the wrong place or wrong calendar. Therefore, if we wanted to place it in the right one, we had no choice but to delete that event and recreate it in the right place. A process that in the end becomes tedious, but that changes thanks to the function that allows us to move them in a simple way.

Move events in Google Calendar

How this version works in Google Calendar for Android It is identical to that of its operation in computer. If you have already used this function on occasion, you will not have problems when using it on your phone. You will have to have one of the most recent versions of the installed application, so make sure it is up to date before doing anything. If you already have the most recent version of it, then just follow these steps:

  • Open Google Calendar on your Android phone.
  • Find the event you want to move.
  • Click on this event.
  • Click on the button to edit this event (pencil icon).
  • Access the calendar option on the screen, in which the event is.
  • Choose which calendar you want to send in the menu that comes out.
  • Click on save.

In this way this event has already moved to the calendar that we wanted, instead of being in that one in which perhaps it was by mistake. It’s a quick way to move between calendars, without having to delete it and create it again. So it will save us a lot of time.

Copy or duplicate

This function of moving events is more recent, but it is not the only one they give us in Google Calendar to be able to move an event from one calendar to another. Since we also have the copy or duplicate functions, which will allow us to place this event later on the calendar we deem most appropriate. So it is another way to do this. The steps to use it are as follows:

  • Open Google Calendar on your phone.
  • Search the event.
  • Click on this event.
  • Click on the Menu option (three vertical dots).
  • Choose either Duplicate or Copy to.
  • Paste the event where you want it to be.

It is another method and so we have placed that event on the correct calendar, without having to create it again. It allows us to save time and is easy to use, as you can see, so it is another method to consider in this case.
