Instagram was updated yesterday with a new dark theme for both iOS and Android, but from its hand came a change of practically the same nature , and that is the Stories interface, with more than 500 million active users on a daily basis , It has changed almost completely, with new distribution of elements and new functions.
It is therefore appropriate to comment on what we find with the new Instagram Stories interface , one of the star features of Instagram that aims to conquer us with its renewed design and options.
This is what Instagram Stories looks like now
The new Stories design is somewhat cleaner, and comes from new UI icons and distribution. Specifically, we have almost the same sections as before , although we find news such as ‘create’, something we will talk about later. This is what we will find when opening the stories
- Free hands
- (Looking ahead, as we see in Genbeta , the ‘TBT’ mode will be added to upload photographs with some time)
When opening the camera, by default, we activate the ‘normal’ mode . This allows us to take pictures with both the front and rear cameras, and leaves the filters more handy than ever, these being located on the right. To use it, we only have to move in that direction, and they will be applied automatically. This normal mode does not go beyond, photographs with or without a filter .
The ‘Create’ mode combines several of the functions we already had, in a new interface. When you open it, we are shown the option to write text, although if we scroll to the right we have several interesting options.
Add a GIF of Gyphy
Add a countdown
Dual Option Surveys
Dual Option Questions
Questions through messages
These options are duplicated when we access the menu with the icon of the smiling sticker, from which we can add extras such as locations, chats, donations, likes indicators and others.
As we can see, it is a redesign focused on the relocation of contents, which maintains the majority of functions trying to establish a distinction between the quick photography with filter of the more elaborate compositions with text, music, surveys and others. The redesign is available on iOS and Android terminals , and it is enough to have the Instagram application updated to the latest version to enjoy it.
